Militants have killed a law maker in Peshawar. They used a remote controlled bomb to kill him.  It is reported that blast occurred when the newly-appointed special US envoy for Pakistan and Afghanistan was in the city to get first hand information from the local authorities and discuss the prevailing situation in Pakistan’s tribal area.

The death of Awami National Party (ANP) MPA Alamzeb Khan has stunned the ANP law makers who openly oppose Taliban movement and its activities.

His will death will also create problems for the new Obama administration who have started a plan to strike a coordinated attack on Taliban from all sides.

News reports say that Taliban using FM radio to spread their ideology in Swat. They are also using FM radios to issue threats. Experts and security officials say that FM radio programs are helping Taliban increase their influence in the parts of Upper Dir and Lower Dir districts and Malakand Agency.

People complain that government is not making any serious attempts to eliminate their radio stations.

Sometimes they block their transmission. But Taliban start their transmission after few hours. Government should make serious efforts to close these FM radios. Taliban can get more people in their clutches.

Pakistan’s former Army Chief says that RAW, CIA and Mossad carried out the Mumbai attack. He expresses his views in his new article ‘Emerging Union of Pak-Iran & Afghanistan’. He wrote:… the callous blood bath of Mumbai on 26 Nov was enacted by RAW, CIA and Mossad, - the Saffron Nexus - to defame Pakistan in the comity of nations and lend justification for punitive action.”

The general says that the US fears that Pakistan, Iran and Afghans are planning to form a union. He thinks this new can impede the US geopolitical designs in the region.

Indian Defence Minister has said issued a very irresponsible statement. His statements could increase the tension prevailing between India and Pakistan. He said:“More than 30 terror outfits are still active in Pakistan. So how can I say that there is a real change in Pakistan’s attitude? … There is no time limit (for Pakistan to act) but it must act.”

I accept that Jihad outfits exist in Pakistan. Pakistani government denies their existence. They were created during Afghan war. Later Pakistan used them in Kashmir.

Indian also created insurgent to fight their proxy war in Pakistan. They supplies training and arms to Bengali insurgents in 1971.

Pakistan and India are responsible for the crisis and miseries in the region. India and Pakistan will have to give up their rivalries if they want peace in the region. Blaming Pakistan will not solve problem. It will only increase tension in the region.
